Open Positions

Dover Dixon Horne PLLC, a full-service commercial law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas, is expanding its leading state and local tax (SALT) team with an additional attorney. Please contact careers@ddh.law or any of the DDH SALT attorneys (Matt Boch, T.J. Lawhon, and Mike Parker) to apply.

The state and local tax team advises and represents taxpayers on Arkansas and multistate tax issues, including income taxes, sales and use taxes, property taxes, and excise taxes. The practice includes:

  • Representing taxpayers in tax litigation in trial and appellate courts;
  • Representing taxpayers in audits and administrative appeals;
  • Advising taxpayers about compliance with state and local taxes;
  • Seeking administrative guidance for taxpayers;
  • Negotiating and implementing economic development incentives;
  • Assisting taxpayers with compliance and reporting for taxes, rebates, credits, and incentives;
  • Monitoring and drafting legislation and administrative rules;
  • Advising and negotiating tax provisions related to contracts and transactions;
  • Educating taxpayers about Arkansas and multistate tax issues through writing and speaking; and
  • Helping clients with other areas of regulatory, business, and trusts and estates law.

This practice necessarily demands a broad skillset for an attorney, including legal research and analytic writing, written and oral advocacy, interpersonal relationship and communication skills, business sense, project management, and overall judgment.

This position is open both to experienced and entry-level attorneys, and the attorney’s title and compensation will depend on background and experience.

Preferred:

  • License to practice in Arkansas
  • Experience in state and local tax
  • Experience in government
  • Tax LLM
  • Other legal experience, particularly in litigation or regulatory matters
  • Accounting background
